Graphs of rate of propagation of Sasser worm over weekend of 5/2/04-5/3/04.  This compares in magnitude to recent attacks such as Blaster, NetSky, and Bagle:

Study these graphs - courtesy of the fabulous "LinkLogger" - and then think about using your firewall router to block outbound port 113, 135, 139, etc.  It's easy to do, just use the filter options to block outbound ports 135, 137, 139.  There's no reason to send that traffic outbound.  If you are using a Linksys box, think about LinkLogger and joining up with Dshield.org.  They are both worthwhile projects.

Inbound port traffic and port usage via LinkLogger.  "Expand to regular size" to see detail.
